The St. Peter's Choir invites you to join us at 4:00 pm on Sunday, May 3 for the debut of Felix Mendelssohn's Saint Paul Oratorio at St. Peter's. The Choir has twice sung Mendelssohn’s Elijah oratorio in concert, and has long offered the beautiful Saint Paul chorus “How Lovely are the Messengers” as an anthem. We present this concert version of Saint Paul in honor of the 200th anniversary of Mendelssohn’s birth and the marking of 2008-2009 as the celebration of the 2,000th anniversary of Paul’s birth.

Here's the weekend forecast for Arlington, Virginia -- a "mix" is headed your way on Sunday, but not that icy "wintry mix" that you hear about in weather reports. Instead, singers at St. Peter's will offer a variety of songs aimed at chasing away the winter blahs and encouraging the return of spring. The Songs to Chase the Winter Away concert will get under way at St. Peter's at 4:00 pm on Sunday, January 25.

A dedicatory recital showcasing the renovated St. Peter's pipe organ and featuring guest artist Haig Mardirosian kicked off the Concerts at St. Peter's 2008 - 2009 season on Sunday, October 19.
In addition to celebrating the completion of the St. Peter's pipe organ renovation, the recital was also part of an international event. The American Guild of Organists (AGO) has designated the current year as the International Year of the Organ. As part of that observance the AGO, in cooperation with other organizations such as the Royal Canadian College of Organists and the American Theater Organ Society, on October 19 presented more than 2,000 performers at more than 225 concert venues (including St. Peter's) throughout North America and abroad.
