Here's the weekend forecast for Arlington, Virginia -- a "mix" is headed your way on Sunday, but not that icy "wintry mix" that you hear about in weather reports. Instead, singers at St. Peter's will offer a variety of songs aimed at chasing away the winter blahs and encouraging the return of spring. The Songs to Chase the Winter Away concert will get under way at St. Peter's at 4:00 pm on Sunday, January 25.
Songs by Gershwin, Gilbert & Sullivan, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Pete Seeger, Frank Loesser, Leonard Bernstein, Garrison Keillor, Sting, Relient K, Michel LeGrand, Tom Lehrer, Mendelssohn, Schubert, Britten, Tchaikovsky, and more will be featured on the concert program. With songs drawn from this wide array of composers and song writers, there'll be something on the concert program for everyone! So, take this opportunity to "think Spring" and enjoy a wonderful afternoon of music.
All are invited to attend Songs to Chase the Winter Away, as well as the reception following the concert. Admission is free (donations are gratefully accepted in support of Concerts at St. Peter's).
