The newly-installed organ at St. Peter's will be played at Sunday services for the first time on Sunday, November 18.
The inaugural use of the organ at the 9:00 am and 11:00 am services on November 18 will mark the completion of the St. Peter's pipe organ renovation project. St. Peter's now has a beautiful 3-manual, 41-rank, combination pipe and digital instrument that will provide music for worship services, concerts and recitals for years to come.
Both the 9:00 am and 11:00 am services on November 18 will begin with a prayer of blessing for the organ, followed by a Prelude played by Emily Koons, organist, and Music Director Don Witman, trumpet. At the 11:00 am service, the Offertory anthem will feature the Adult Choir, organ, and trumpet. The Postlude at both services will feature the organ as a solo instrument.
After completion of a successful pipe organ renovation fundraising campaign in July, the renovation work began in August, and culminated with installation of the 3-manual console, digital components, and renovated pipes in late October and early November. The renovation was performed by Lewis & Hitchcock, Inc.
